“We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once.” – Calvin Coolidge
John 9:4, “As long as it is day, we must do the work of Him who sent me. Night is coming when no one can work.”
Father, I want to accomplish Your will for me today. What would You have me do today? I trust You. I ask You to form Your perfect will in me. Direct my life and be the motivator of my heart and my actions that I would do Your work. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
“The present is what slips by us while we’re pondering the past and worrying about the future.”- Ziggy
“Now listen you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” James 4:13,14
Lord, please forgive me for the time I waste by not living in the moment. Please help me not to waste time by worry and making too many plans, or dwelling on the past. Please help me to hear what You are saying, and respond to Your leading in my life today. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
“The mighty oak was once a little nut that stood it’s ground.” -Unknown
I like this quote. Some things just take time. Growth, development, maturity, character. These take time, experience, molding. God never gives up working in our hearts; and He uses other members in the Church to promote our spiritual growth…”to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Eph. 4:13
Father, Thanks for never giving up on me. I thank You for Your promises to complete what You have begun until each of us becomes mature and built up in Christ. Thank You for Your faithfulness.
“The splendor of God’s beauty satisfies every appetite that we have. He is more beautiful than a waterfall, than the softness of a baby’s skin, than the aroma of baking bread, than the taste of chocolate, than the sound of a symphony. His beauty fills us up so that we long for nothing more.” -Mary Morrison Suggs
I remember as a new believer thinking how beautiful God is. I was struck by all that He created, and in amazement of the extravagance of His love. I am still struck by God’s beauty and even moreso by His forgiveness and grace. Thank God for His free and beautiful gift of grace!
Father, the longer I know You, the more convinced I am that there as nothing I could possibly do to ear Your love, salvation or grace. Thank You for the greatness of Your love and showing us Your beauty in the person of Jesus Christ. I’m so grateful Lord Jesus! Thank You.
“Prayer is so simple, it is like quietly opening a door, and slipping into the very presence of God. There in the stillness to listen to His voice, perhaps to petition, or only to listen, it matters not. Just to be there, in His presence, is prayer.” – David Langerfeld
Ps 65:2 “Oh You who hear prayer, to You all men will come.”
What a sweet thing it is to know You are in the presence of God. He is so good. So faithful and inviting. In His presence it is safe to pour out your heart and also to receive from God. How come I don’t slow down more often and just be in God’s presence?
Father, I thank You that You always hear and answer my prayers. I’m sorry that I don’t pull aside more often jus to rest in Your presence and communicate with You. Please help me to do that more. I really do love You Lord.
“Jesus images portray the Kingdom of God as a kind of secret force. Sheep among wolves, treasure hidden in a field, the tiniest seed in a garden, wheat growing among weeds, a pinch of yeast worked into bread dough, a sprinkling of salt on meat – all these hint at a movement that works within society, changing it from the inside out.” – Philip Yancey
Jesus said , (Luke 17:20,21) that “The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is’ or ‘There it is’, because the kingdom of God is within you.”
The kingdom of God is wthin us. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords resides in the life of every Christian. So, wherever you go, He is present. You are God’s force in the world today!
Father, I thank You that You have called me out of darkness and into the light of your love. I thank You that Your Kingdom is within me. Rule and reign in my life Lord Jesus. Touch through me, that others would know the magnificence of Your grace. I pray that Your Kingdom would increase and that You would shine through me; that others would see and love Jesus too.
“He is solitary in His majesty, unique in His excellency, peerless in His perfection. He sustains us, but is Himself independant of all. He gives to all, but is enriched by none.” -Arthur W. Pink
“The Lord reigns, He is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and is armed with strength.” Ps. 93:1
The word “majesty” isn’t one that is heard very often. Why? Nothing about ‘majesty’ is common. It is used to say that something is grand, extraordinary, lofty. God is majestic. Yet, this is only a fraction of a descriptor for him. God himself is so much more than majestic that majesty can only be referred to as if it is God’s clothing. He is robed in majesty.
Wow God! You are so big. So grand. So majestic! So much more than I can imagine or express in words. Thank You that You have revealed Yourself to us in every way that is possible until we see You face to face in all of Your majesty. Thank You Lord!
